Toulouse-Lautrec, Creator of Icons • Hôtel de Caumont, Aix-en-Provence: Art Museum Exhibition
From 24 April to 4 October 2026, the Hôtel de Caumont – Centre d’Art and Culturespaces present the exhibition “Toulouse-Lautrec, Creator of Icons.”
Through a dynamic scenography devoted to one of the major artists of the Belle Époque, visitors are immersed in the bohemian atmosphere of Montmartre.
The exhibition highlights Toulouse-Lautrec’s ability to transform both the celebrated figures and the anonymous faces of his time into true icons of modernity.
Alongside major institutions (Musée Toulouse-Lautrec, Albi; Musée Carnavalet, Paris; Musée d’Orsay; Musée des Arts Décoratifs; Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation, Athens; Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest), Galerie de la Présidence is pleased to lend, through its intermediary, Moulin Rouge au Promenoir (Au café), an oil on canvas by Kees van Dongen, circa 1904.
